Second Annual Spartan Tartan Highland Dance Competition and new Spartan Tartan Workshop!

Competition takes place at the MSU Student Union, 49 Abbot Rd., East Lansing, MI 48824. Workshop takes place at the Court One Training Center, 7868 Old-M78, East Lansing, MI 48823.

Competition Information:
Doors to competition venue will open at 8:00 A.M. Registration for Primary, Beginner & Novice dancers will begin at 8:15 A.M. and end at 8:45 A.M. The competition will start at 9:00 A.M. with the Beginner and Novice Lilt, followed by Primary Pas de Basques. Intermediate & Premier registration will begin at 12:00 P.M and end at 12:45 P.M. with the afternoon competition beginning at 1:00 P.M with the Intermediate Fling. Dances will be competed in order listed. Competition will be conducted in accordance with the rules of S.O.B.H.D. Age groups will be determined by entries received. The decision of the judge is final. *Prize money for oldest Premier group* 

Registrations will be confirmed via email within 7-days of receipt. All checks to be made payable to “Gibson Highland Dance” in US Funds (Canadian checks not accepted – must be money order in US funds or online payment). Dance numbers will be provided at registration. Entrance fee to competition $3 per person (12 and over). Children under 12, East Lansing residents, and sponsors enter free. Entries accepted through April 1. Entries received after April 1 will be charged a $10 late fee. Please register by March 26 if you would like your name included on the competition t-shirts that will be for sale. No same day registrations. 

Workshop Information:
Workshop instruction provided by judge Kitty Hart MacNaughton. Doors open at 9:30am for registration. Group warm-up will be at 9:45am with the workshop running 10am-2pm for intermediate/premier (10am-12pm for beginner/novice). Lunch will take place 12-12:30pm for all registered participants. Lunch, water, and healthy snacks will be provided. Dancers will need to check the competitions they are attending for 3 months following the workshop to see if the instructor will be judging at a competition within those 3 months.
